Sanitisers

Chlorine performs two functions in our pool water. It kills harmful bacteria in the water (sanitises) and burns up the dead organic matter (oxidises). Chlorine is the only sanitiser that leaves a residual in water that protects against additional contaminants as they are introduced into the pool. There are two types of chlorine sanitisers; non-stabilised and stabilised.

HTH® Classic (granular)

HTH® Chlorine provides effective and reliable chlorination economically. It kills algae and bacteria instantly on contact. It can be used as routine daily maintenance or as a shock treatment. Available in 2kg, 4kg, 6kg, 10kg and 40kg pack sizes.

Directions for use:

Test your pool water using either your HTH® 4-in-1 Test Kit or HTH® Quick Test Strips, maintain your pH at 7.2 – 7.6
In the early evening, dose your pool with 250g of HTH® Classic for every 50 000 litres of water
Repeat daily or every second day – maintain chlorine residual between 1 – 3ppm

HTH-Ultra-2.75kg-2

HTH® Ultra

HTH® Ultra has the same benefits as HTH® Classic. It has the strongest available granular chlorine meaning it is fast acting, quick dissolving and it has a built in active algaecide.

Directions for use:

Test your pool water using either your HTH® 4-in-1 Test Kit or HTH® Quick Test Strips, maintain your pH between 7.2 – 7.6
In the early evening, dose your pool with 250g of HTH® Classic for every 50 000 litres of water
Repeat daily or every second day – maintain chlorine residual between 1 – 3ppm

HTH® Pod

The HTH® Pod is a weekly chlorine dispenser. It delivers a daily dose of HTH® granular for 1 week and powerful algae control. When placed in your pool, the Pod delivers a shock treatment to the pool.

Directions for use:

Test your pool water using either your HTH® 4-in-1 Test Kit or HTH® Quick Test Strips, maintain your pH between 7.2 – 7.6
With the filter running, place HTH® Pod™ in the pool in the early evening to deliver instant shock treatment
Replace when the unit has tipped

HTH® Green to Blue™

HTH® Green to Blue turns green water blue in 24hours provided that your pump and filter are in good working order and your stabiliser is <80. HTH® Green to Blue is for use in sand filters only.

Directions for use:

Start the treatment in the early evening
Clear the weir and pump baskets of debris
Backwash the filter for 3 minutes then rinse for 2 minutes
With the pump on the filter position, sprinkle contents of pack 1 around the sides of the pool then sprinkle contents of pack 2 around teh sides of the pool.
Allow to filter for 12 hours
Once the 12 hours filtering is complete, clear the pump and weir baskets of debris. Backwash for 3 minutes, then rinse for 2 minutes. Continue filteribg for a further 12 hours.
Should the pool be slightly cloudy, add 1x HTH® Sparkle It Cube. Should the pool be very cloudy, add HTH® Xtreme Flocc
Do not enter the pool until the chlorine residual is <3

Shock-It

Super-Shock-It

HTH® Shock It & HTH® Super Shock It

HTH® Shock It and HTH® Super Shock It are once off shock treatment doses. They are quick dissolving and kill bacteria and algae instantly on contact.

Directions for use:

Test your pool water using either your HTH® 4-in-1 Test Kit or HTH® Quick Test Strips, maintain your pH between 7.2 – 7.6
In the early evening, add one sachet of HTH® Shock It or HTH® Super Shock It® around the sides of the pool
Run the filter for 24hours
After the first 12hours, check and re-correct the pH level. Continue with normal chlorination program
Only enter the pool when chlorine residual is <3ppm

In case of a vinyl or colored lining, pre-dissolve HTH® Shock It or HTH® Super Shock It® in a bucket of water to prevent bleaching
Shock treating fixes 90% of pool water problems in 24 hours provided that your pH is correct

HTH® Plunge Pool Shock It

Shock treatment is recommended to treat: algae, coloured water, low chlorine residual, at the start of a season and after refilling the pool. HTH® Plunge Pool Shock It can be used to treat pop-up pools and small pools up to 15 000 litres.

Directions for use:

Test your pool water using either your HTH® 4-in-1 Test Kit or HTH® Quick Test Strips, maintain your pH between 7.2 – 7.6
In the early evening, add one sachet of HTH® Plunge Pool Shock It around the sides of the pool
Run the filter for 24 hours
After the first 12hours, check and re-correct the pH level. Continue with normal chlorination program

HTH® Floater +

The HTH® Floater + is a monthly stabilised chlorine dispenser that treats up to 70 000 litres of water. It sanities, clarifies, prevents algae and delivers a shock treatment to the pool.

Also available in a small HTH® Floater + to treat pools from 10 000 litres to 30 000 litres

Directions for use:

Test your pool water using your HTH® Quick Test Strips, maintain your pH between 7.2 – 7.6 Test and correct weekly
If pH <7.2, add HTH® pH Up
If pH >7.6, add HTH® pH Down
Set your floater to either small (30 000l - 40 000l), medium (50 000l) or large (60 000 l - 70 000l) as per your pool size and place the floater in the pool with the filter running
Replace when the unit has tipped
Only enter the pool when chlorine residual is <3ppm

Do not lift or remove the HTH® Floater + from the water until it needs to be replaced
In extreme conditions, add 3 x the normal dosage of HTH® Classic or 1 sachet of HTH® Shock It.

HTH® Pace Floater

The HTH® Pace Floater is a monthly stabilised chlorine dispenser that treats up to 70 000 litres of water.

Directions for use:

Test your pool water using your HTH® Quick Test Strips, maintain your pH between 7.2 – 7.6
Test and correct weekly
If pH <7.2, add HTH® pH Up
If pH >7.6, add HTH® pH Down
Set your floater to either small (30 000l - 40 000l), medium (50 000l) or large (60 000l - 70 000l) as per your pool size and place the floater in the pool with the filter running
Replace when the unit has tipped

Only enter the pool when chlorine residual is <3ppm

Do not lift or remove the HTH® Pace Floater from the water until it is completely dissolved

In extreme conditions, add 3 x the normal dosage of HTH® Classic or 1 sachet of HTH® Shock It.
Maintain the stabiliser level <50ppm

HTH® Pace Pills

HTH® Pace Pills are stabilised chlorine pills. There are eight pills in the canister.

Directions for use:

Test your pool water using your HTH® Quick Test Strips, maintain your pH at 7.2 – 7.6
Place the required number of Pace Pills in a floating basket and then in your pool with the filter running
Replace when the pills have dissolved
Maintain the stabiliser level <50ppm
